Guest posting brought me hundreds of subscribers. For me, it’s the most sustainable growth strategy.
I don’t like to join the fray of social media: constantly chasing the trends, imitating what others do, humble bragging…
Guest posting feels more natural and wholesome. I keep doing what I like and know: writing. I just publish my articles on someone else’s publication.
But, to make it work I have to be consistent and publish at least one guest post every month. This means:
finding guest posting opportunities,
contacting the creators,
asking for the necessary info,
following up,
following up after the publication.
All of this is much less exciting than writing. But let’s be adults: without a process, you’re handing your fate to chance.
In the past, I tried to manage similar processes from the top of my mind. It’s stressful and always fails.
Now, I use Notion databases to support me. They allow me to save complex information very quickly, and to clearly keep track of all the steps.
I created a template including:
a kanban board to manage the guest posting process,
templates for contacting creators,
instructions describing the process.
