I've been a solopreneur since 2010. There are no solopreneurs in my close circle of friends and relatives. (Actually, there are no entrepreneurs at all).
No one ever asked me: tell me how to become self-employed. They just think it's not for them.
There's a gap between us that feels impossible to cross. It's like we're leaving on different planets. So, it’s almost impossible to make them understand that being an entrepreneur isn’t just a job—it’s living an entirely different life.
And one of the biggest advantages of this life is having control over every minute of your day.
I know, I know, you can't control every minute. I have a 6-year-old son... 😉
But you do have much, much more leeway to move things around on your calendar. And when it comes to your working hours, that’s where you have total freedom.
This alone gets you as close as possible to designing your ideal lifestyle. You can work in 30-minute blocks, take a nap after lunch, hit the gym at 10AM when none's there... You can do everything you need to become the best version of yourself.
That's crucial. When you’re a content creator and want to earn a living from it, your personal growth is your business growth.
This interview's guest, Landon Poburan, is a perfect example. He was burning out from overwork, like many others nowadays, even though he was already self-employed.
Through deep personal work and the support of professionals, he took back control of his life. He completely redesigned his service-based business and started writing (and monetizing his audience).
Now he works a maximum of 5 hours a day and earns just as much as he did before. The rest of his time is devoted to resting, reading, tinkering, working out and taking care of himself and his growth.
Listen to the full interview to learn how he took control of his life, how he keep growing and some juicy details on his writing process.
